Controling Chaos

Sometimes my days melt together, and I don't know which is which, or what day I did what. I attribute this partially to my disorganization, and partially because I can only use so much of my time cleaning, playing, cooking and crafting. Since my discovery of freezer and crockpot cooking (found one at goodwill for $3!), I really don't spend much time cooking. Cleaning is robotic, and very, very repetitive. Playing is the BEST way to spend my time, however, Charlie get's sick of me, and the weather has kept us inside. I don't see the need to waste gas keeping our car when Nestor works, so unless I need to go someplace, I don't. We have a nap and eating schedule, and I usually don't disrupt that. Ever. Charlie has almost always slept through the night, and napped 2 times a day for 2 hours until 14 months, and now still takes a 2 hour nap everyday. He eats like 8 times a day. LOL! AND he eats A LOT! My Pediatrician told me to let him eat as much as he wants whenever he wants. Now, with that said, he eats mostly fruit, whole wheat pasta and rice (usually flavored with no sauce), cottage cheese, pretzels, marshmallows, stir fry, chicken nuggets, black olives, and any kind of bread. I don't really have many friends that I hang out with on a regular basis. I don't belong to any groups. So, aside from Nestor's work schedule, there isn't a lot of organization. But we have fun, and my boy is happy, AND everywhere we go people comment on his happy, well-behaved demeanor.
Something is right. I take satisfaction in THAT! My house isn't always clean, but we're creating memories, and cleaning takes 5 minutes, that he would turn right around and destroy once more. This used to frustrate me, but I'm learning to take it in stride.

CVS & Walgreens Trip 1/13/12

SO...I got some great deals that I wanted to share with anyone interested!

At CVS, I already had $8 in Extracare Bucks from last weeks shopping. I prepare my lists to shop before I go, and clip the appropriate coupons. I recycle envelopes that mail get sent in to use for my coupons and lists. This website or this website can be helpful tools for making your lists.
BACK to CVS... I bought 3 12 packs of coke, 2 40 count packages of o.b. tampons, Johnson & Johnsons Baby shampoo with conditioner, baby oil gel with shea butter and body wash, as well as desitin, and 4 craft items marked 75% off from christmas (great for next year!).
NORMALLY all of this was $54.22! I had $6 in coupons, and everything was on sale, and part of a promotion where if you spend $30 in particular products, you get a $10 gift card to use later!
So I paid $20.01 out of pocket, then they gave me $10!
I ONLY PAID $10.01 FOR ALL THAT STUFF!!!

At Walgreens, I got 2 nail polish removers, 2 glade sprays & child DHA vitamins. BEFORE coupons $23.37. I paid $13.28, BUT They gave me $10 in Register Rewards to spend next time I shop!
It's like I paid $3.28!

Great Shopping Day!

First thing this morning I went to Winn Dixie for MEAT! It's usually where I purchase meat, but I got a fantastic deal! Originally totaled at $64.99, but I only paid $38.22!

THEN, I went to CVS and scanned my card, and it gave me $3 in ECB's for the summer, and a $2/2 coupon for O.B. Tampons, so I ran home to get the $1/1 O.B. coupon from the SmartSource 8/21, and they were on sale, AND I already had $2 ECB from Milk earlier in the week! SO I got 4 boxes of 40ct O.B., and I found a diaper genie refill on clearance for $2.70!!! Total OOP was $13.04, originally $37.24!

I have a really friendly mechanic at Ross' Auto in Lakeland, Florida, Joe, who will do an oil change for me if I purchase the supplies. So I go to AutoZone, where I have a membership card that earns money for spending. I'm not sure of the specifics, but if you don't have one, you should. I got the oil filter, air filter and oil for $12.72! AND I have a rebate!

All in all, it was a great shopping day. I also went to Target, but no noteworthy deals. Yesterday I did a majority of my shopping at Walmart, which I won't do again, because this particular location has angered me for the last time. Poor customer service and ignorance aren't a good combination.

My CVS & WAGS trip 9/25/11

So I shopped at CVS with the intent to only buy milk. I had $2 in ECB's from last trip, my total after ECB's was $5.59, but I've now got $2 in ECB's for next trip! Making my milk $1.79 a gallon! I wish gas was that cheap!

At Walgreens, I had to do 10 transactions. I came to the store with $3 in RR's. I got $148 dollars worth of merchandise for $47.97! I only paid 33%!

it's missing a few items that I put into a donation box for the womens shelter. I try to get things that are under $1, and donate when I can, the items that I think they might need.

Anyway. I'm new to blogging. But I have a lot of ideas, so if you bare with me, one day the training wheels might come off and produce a stellar blog.

Yours Truly,
Miss Money

Modern Day Hippie

Charlie and I were in the mood for something sweet to satisfy our taste buds, so I decided to make chocolate chip cookies. I love baking, but sometimes it's tedious to stand there while each batch cooks, cools, switch, repeat. I have been contemplating and researching homemade laundry soap. It has 3 ingredients (4 if you include the water), and I've accumulated said ingredients, so I made a decision to make it while making cookies. Please don't be alarmed, there was no contamination during this process. The laundry soap was easy enough to make, though I would like to try making it with essential oil next time for fragrance. It is required to sit for 24 hours, so now I'm waiting, and should results be good, I'll be back with directions, pictures and my opinion.

Going to eat some cookies now :)
